Hino Rei is a Shinto shrine maiden but goes to a Catholic school, T-A Academy For Girls, on her father Takashi's wishes. They don't get along as since Rei's mother Risa died he has been wrapped up in his work as a politician.

- Naoko Takeuchi, the mangaka of Sailor Moon herself worked at a shrine and was hit on there so she made Rei's grandfather a pervert.
